To make it, blend the milk, Greek yogurt, papaya, mango, almond butter and banana. Pour into a bowl and top with the remaining ingredients.
Papaya
Papaya is a very good source of an antioxidant known as zeaxanthin, which has been shown to help slow the onset of and, in some cases, even prevent age-related macular degeneration. This exotic fruit also contains good levels of beta-carotene, which helps prevent cancer and reduces the risk of developing asthma.
Mango
Like the papaya in this smoothie, mango is a very good source of both zeaxanthin and beta-carotene, making it very beneficial to eye health and the prevention of cancer and asthma. Mango is also thought to be very helpful in maintaining a healthy digestive system because it has a high fibre and water content.
Almond Butter
Almond butter can be bought in supermarkets but is easy to make at home and often healthier because you can choose how much salt or sugar, if any, you wish to add to it. This delicious alternative to peanut butter is full of nutrients and contains a good dose of iron, calcium, protein, magnesium and omega fatty acids, to name just a few.
Banana
A few of the benefits linked to the consumption of bananas include a healthier heart because they are rich in potassium, which maintains a regular heartbeat, and dietary fibre, which removes cholesterol from the gut before it can enter the bloodstream. Bananas also help with the management of diabetic symptoms and replenishing electrolytes.
Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt helps to improve the calcium content of this smoothie bowl, a mineral which plays an important role in the proper formation and growth of strong, healthy bones.
Milk
One of the main benefits to health that is associated with the consumption of milk is the formation of strong, healthy bones and teeth, especially in children. However, milk is also thought to be good for maintaining heart health because of the good levels of potassium it contains that help lower blood pressure and maintain a regular heartbeat.
Avocado
Adding provides a good dose of vitamins and minerals like potassium, which is incredibly beneficial to good heart and bone health. Magnesium, which helps to support the immune system and reduce the frequency of migraines is also present in avocados. It also contains vitamin K, which helps the blood to clot properly and helps maintain healthy bones.
Orange
Oranges contain one of the highest amounts of vitamin C of any fruit or vegetable, as much as 160% per large fruit. This means that they not only contribute to good skin health, but also help to protect against damage caused by free radicals, therefore reducing the risk of developing cancer and protecting against cardiovascular disease.
Almonds
Almonds are a rich source of vitamin E, which helps to keep your skin healthy and supports good heart health. They also contain a good dose of plant-based protein and dietary fibre, both of which help to keep you feeling fuller for longer and, therefore, aid in proper weight management.
